2026 Fishing Derby

Join us for walleye fishing at OGMA’s annual fishing derby with “Hall’emin” Sport Fishing, captained by James Hall and his crew, who have more than 25 years of professional sport fishing experience on Lake Erie.

Captain James Hall has followed the traditions of his family by being a Great Lakes fisherman. His father and grandfather were professional fishermen all their lives, and James spends an average of 150 days per year on the open waters of the Great Lakes. James guarantees you’ll catch fish and have a great day doing it!

2026 Annual Fishing Derby

We’re pleased to invite all members to join us for our annual fishing derby on August 13, 2026, taking place on beautiful Lake Erie with Hall’emin Sport Fishing. Led by Captain James Hall and his experienced crew—who bring more than 25 years of sport‑fishing expertise—this outing offers a great day on the water for both seasoned anglers and those trying walleye fishing for the first time.

You’ll enjoy friendly competition, hands-on guidance, and access to top-quality equipment throughout the day. It’s a chance to sharpen your skills, connect with fellow members, and share in the camaraderie that makes our community strong. The derby is all about good fishing, good stories, and creating memories that reflect OGMA’s commitment to professional growth, industry networking, and FUN!

COST FOR MEMBERS AND THEIR GUESTS:

$250.00 per person (HST included)

Includes a fish fry lunch and prizes for the most fish caught.

All required fishing gear will be supplied for you. Safety equipment is on board at all times, ensuring a safe and successful fishing experience.

Please bring with you:

  • Your fishing license
  • Cool weather appropriate clothing, as it may be colder on the water
  • UVA/B sunblock/sunscreen
  • Gravol for motion sickness (please take 1 hour before departure time for a more enjoyable experience!)
  • A large cooler so you can carry home your substantial catch
  • No bananas because they are bad luck!

Note: Each boat holds up to five people. For reservations under five people, spots will be booked as registrations come in. The number of boats available is limited — reservations are on a first-come, first-served basis. Reserve early to avoid disappointment.
